Dance Session in Chicago Chinatown | Camryn Babcock

I had such a beautiful day creating and exploring movement during a dance session with my dear friend and fellow company member of Hot Crowd dance, Camryn! We shot in Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chinatown, Chicago in front of this absolutely stunning mural called “All As One” by artists Andy Bellamo, Chester Chow and Anna Murphy, located under the 18th street bridge. (Fun fact, this park has an INCREDIBLE view of the Chicago skyline and has options to kayak there!)

What I loved most about this session was combining the beauty of movement (and of course, this stunning dancer) with this magnificent, giant work of art. We played with prompts that could connect Camryn to the mural, its colors, the shapes, the dynamics, and how it made us feel next to it. It truly was a magical day.

Check out some of the photos from our shoot!
