Chicago Freelance Dancer Studio Portrait Session at Lumber Studios | Kaitlyn Pasquinelli

Kaitlyn is a freelance dancer in Chicago who is incredibly dedicated to her craft. When I first hopped on the phone with Kaitlyn for our initial informational call, I could instantly tell how passionate she is about dancing, learning, and growing. She is super detail-oriented, thorough, and organized. She took advantage of all the communication and prep-time prior to our shoot which, might I add, we had never met in person before! This part in-studio and part on-location dance photography session was another one for the books.

Kaitlyn is a very focused and determined dancer. You can tell that she’s worked deeply with mastering texture and performance and all the subtleties that come along with it.

For her session, Kaitlyn wanted to highlight strength, power, grit, and groove and because of our immediate connection and by Kaitlyn thoroughly communicating her needs and vision through my prompted emails and questionnaire, I think we effectively captured the qualities in herself that we sought after and wanted to showcase.

We shot the first part of our session at Lumber Studios in Pilsen, one of several stunning spaces that they provide. The communication, booking process, and overall care they provided was exceptional. There are so many beautiful things that come from working in tandem with other creatives in an already creative process. One particular serendipitous and magical moment that happened while we were working, was the owner of the studios asked if Kaitlyn was available and interested in performing in an event the studio was hosting, just two days later. Turns out she was available and ended up fostering a connection with many new creatives from this shoot!
