Bollywood Dance Session in Lincoln Park | Priya Raman

Last Monday I had a dance portrait session with Priya, and what a stunning, vibrant shoot it was! I had just met Priya in person the day of our shoot, as we had connected online about doing a shoot together prior. Priya is a local Chicago dance educator, specializing in Bollywood dance! Her mission is to spread the joy of Indian Dance to kids. She teaches in person classes in Lincoln Park (check it out here), and virtual classes to a range of ages for kids! This was such a special shoot for me because Priya educated me on Indian folk dances, classical dance (Bharatanatyam) and Bollywood dance which I had really only touched briefly on in college several years ago. I highly encourage all dance enthusiasts to research and find these styles of dance to see live. Amongst the vibrant colors, costumes, and storytelling, it is something I hope to see more in the future!
